The Mexican Blackbird

In western myth, the Mexican Blackbird is a series of broken trails that outlaws could take to “get down under” into Mexico, where the law couldn’t follow them.

This old story resonates with me, because I’ve spent a great deal of my life in this sleepy little Mexican fishing village on the Sea of Cortez. As a youth, we made a game of cat-and-mouse with the local constable; racing our dirt bikes into the mountains and over trails no wider than your hand in places. It was great fun, and the upshot is that I know every every backroad, trail, and Billy Goat path within 50 miles of our little town.

So when Jen started modeling sexy swimsuits for me at the casa, it was no surprise when I saw the familiar, mischievous twinkle in her eyes… “let’s go for a drive somewhere secluded and take some pictures”. I decided there was no time like the present, and started taking pictures right there at the house. The gallery herein is a something of a documentation of that adventure; starting with a seductive suggestion's followed by a long series of twisting, bumpy, rocky trails; and ending in a beautiful sunset photo shoot atop a cliff overlooking the Pacific.
